There’s just something about a moody powder bath that feels cozy and inviting, isn’t there? But when it’s paired with modern updates? Even better!
Our latest bathroom renovation was all about blending the charm of a timeless powder bath- think soft, neutral tones and natural textures – with sleek, functional upgrades that make the space as practical as it is beautiful.
Our client’s goal for this renovation was to create a bathroom that was up-to-date but also to be a statement room.. The original bathroom was outdated, featured laminate countertops, and had a not-so-pretty safety bar on the wall from the previous owners
To give this dated bathroom a refresh, we did a full gut of the space but kept the existing layout.
When we started the renovation, the first thing we did was create a moodboard that included the elements the client was looking for in their new bathroom: wood finishes, polished details, and vintage-inspired tones.
We instantly fell in love with Lauriston Stone by Sherwin-Williams for this space. It’s a warm and welcoming green that looks amazing in small spaces. After bringing in texture to the walls with board and batten, we color-drenched the space and painted not only the walls, but also the ceiling and trim. It truly transformed the space!
To continue the cozy feeling, we incorporated a textured tile. This one from Amuri really tied the space together! It’s a matte off-white tile inspired by handmade terracotta. The neutral shade allows the wall color to shine but the pattern gives the flooring more depth.
Once the bathroom was painted and the flooring was installed, we installed this bathroom vanity. I absolutely love that it looks like a piece of furniture! It brings that cozy, cottage feel into the space and the rounded edges make the vanity feel like a vintage piece.
To compliment the new space, we kept the hardware, lighting, and mirror simple. These sconces from Pottery Barn bring warmth to the space and this mirror lets the rest of the bathroom shine.
To pull together the scones and mirror, we went with this faucet in champagne bronze. It’s soft but has a little bit of color.
If you’ve been wanting to transform your bathroom (or any room in your house!) to feel moody and transport you to a cozy, vintage-inspired cottage, I hope this bathroom renovation brings you some inspiration!
