A Total Gut

I love a good “starting from scratch” moment & this kitchen provided just that when it came to redesigning this space for my clients. With the help of a wonderful craftsman, warm accents, and traditional touches this kitchen is everything I envisioned it to be.

The Cabinet Story

We chose Shiitake by Sherwin-Williams for the cabinet paint—a perfectly balanced warm greige that brings softness and depth without overpowering the space. It pairs beautifully with the dark-stained wood of the island and tall pantry cabinet, adding a grounded, organic element that anchors the room.

Texture and Tile

One of my favorite features of this kitchen is the subtle texture of the backsplash, sourced from Home Depot. (It’s price friendly and comes in both your standard subway & square.) The soft, handmade look of the tile catches the light in the best way, and its creamy tones complement both the painted and stained cabinetry.

Mixing High & Low

To bring in a lived-in charm, we styled the kitchen and adjacent areas with a mix of furniture and artwork from Wayfair and Pottery Barn. The combination keeps the space feeling curated rather than too polished—and proves you don’t have to splurge on every piece to get a designer look.

Golden Touches

Throughout the space, brass and gold accents give everything a refined, slightly vintage feel. Final Thoughts

This remodel proves that a kitchen doesn’t have to shout to be stunning. With the right balance of neutral tones, quality finishes, and personal touches, you can create a space that feels timeless vs trendy.
